"Anyway,” said Amber, in a tone that meant ‘the subject is changing to me now’, “I still haven’t told you how my date with Alex went last night!”

Kristy squealed. I swear, I should call the Guinness Book of World Records or something, because humans aren’t meant to have that kind of vocal range.

“What happened?! Tell us every single detail!”

Or, you know, feel free to skip out the unnecessary parts.

Amber, pleased by Kristy’s unwavering attention, gathered herself into storytelling mode. “Well, he's so hot. And his chin is so sharp it could cut steel.” She paused. “No, wait, what's stronger than steel?”

See, this is where I come in handy. “Diamonds.”

Amber nodded excitedly. “Yes! Diamonds! Only diamonds can cut diamonds!”

Sometimes I just can’t help myself. “Well, yeah, but lasers can cut diamonds, too.”

Blank faces all around! No, please, hold your applause. The pause, caused by Amber, as she tries to figure out if Alex’s chin being likened top lasers was a positive thing*, gives me an escape route.

One of the girls that I know from uni had this little snippet in a story that she wrote, and I just couldn't resist. This picture is what Amber thinks of right here*.

It's also a picture of Alex versus =mippins's Señor Invisable. Alex is unleashing a laser attack, and Invisable is dodging it like a true matador and saying something profound in Invisablespañol, as is Señor Invisable's way. It's how he rolls.

Also, I fail at drawing, and consequently, life. Eventually, I'll get around to posting some writing, which I fail less at. Soon, I hope. I'm editing something now.
